Hey, glad to meet ya.

ABOUT

My name is Kevin Brock. Currently, I am an English Major at UNCG. I am a fanatic about gadgets, technology, and video games. My goal after graduation is becoming a journalist in one of the aforementioned categories.

Friends & family rely on me as their personal ‘Geek Squad.’ My realm for technology’s history roams deep. I recall the internet publicly launched with a subscription model, and Nintendo’s “Duck Hunt” was considered a first-person shooter. Raised under the influence of technology, I even learned to type with Mavis Beacon.

My favorite pastimes are listening to tech related podcasts, primarily CNET’s “Buzz Out Loud.” And who doesn’t love G4’s “Attack of the Show: Around the Net?” Besides being a nerd, I enjoy working out and lounging with my friends.

During my spare time, I’m a Sony PlayStation Examiner. I’m also the creator of “QuickPlay” - quick, playful topics of interest related to the gaming community. I routinely blog, informally connecting with friends and followers. Sustaining an online social life is important. After all, today’s culture is not only actual, but virtually social. And maintaining with society’s trend, my resume is available online.

GOALS

My utmost goal as a future graduate and prospective journalist is reporting video game news, reviewing gaming titles, and informing the public with latest consumer gadgets. I love technology, and the politics involving the tech world.

I believe building an audience and sustaining readership is important. I’m always excited to interact with readers via comments and forums. Authentic, personable, and humorous journalism is what I wish to portray.

So, why am I considered an ideal candidate for reporting video game coverage? Here’s why.
